The Department of First Year Engineering at DRIEMS is dedicated to fostering a robust understanding of the practical aspects of Applied Sciences, essential for a strong foundation in Engineering Education. Our department prepares first-year engineering students by providing comprehensive education in the basic sciences, including physics, chemistry, and mathematics. This foundational knowledge is crucial for students as they advance into their core engineering disciplines.
Our curriculum and activities are meticulously designed to cultivate well-rounded engineers capable of applying their knowledge effectively for the betterment of society. The Department is actively involved in the daily activities of DRIEMS, collaborating with other departments to contribute to various developmental programs. We are equipped with separate state-of-the-art laboratories for Physics and Chemistry, ensuring hands-on learning experiences for our students.
As a pioneering wing of DRIEMS, the First Year Department is committed to the holistic development of our students. We aim to equip them with the necessary skills to excel in the professional world by providing deep insights into fundamental sciences and humanities and their innovative applications in technology. Our approach enhances students' knowledge, critical thinking, analytical, and technical skills through a variety of methods, including assignments, case study analyses, PowerPoint presentations with handouts, expert talks, forum activities, and industrial visits.
